Featured Artist: Green Day
A few tracks from one of my all-time faves

 Last week a student told me that "21 Guns" was one of the best songs ever.  I told her that I like Green Day too and that "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is one of my favorite songs.  She laughed and said "but that song is so old."  I actually didn't realize it was from 2004 and that their breakout album Dookie actually came out 10 years before that. Even after all these years, Billie Joe and the gang can still rock out.  Check out my list of the Top 10 Green Day Songs and let me know what you think of my selections of their best.

"Ripe" by Ben Lee

Ben Lee is continuing to grow on me.  Best known for "Catch My Disease", he's also put out a lot of great mellow folk/pop ditties.  I've owned this particular song for a while but it has only recently become the tasty treat that I now enjoy.

Good old fashioned music with acoustic instruments

"Your Hands" by JJ Heller

This soothing, mellow tune reminds me a lot of Sheryl Crow's "Strong Enough."  Featuring a Christian message, it has been on Amazon's Top 5 Folk Downloads for several weeks.

"Chicago Falcon" by The Budos Band

I just recently discovered the soulful horn-fueled Budos Band and I really like them.  This song is perhaps their best as it makes you feel like you're in a Tarantino movie - perfect for cruising in your car at night.
