(Hopefully) something new for you to check out
"Better Things" by Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings
I first heard SJ and D-K singing "This Land Is Your Land" on the Up in the Air titles and thought it had a pretty cool retro/Motown groove. This, their latest flavorful offering, has Sharon moving on from a past relationship with help from the soulful horn and rhythm sections.

Featured Artist: Keb' Mo'
A few tracks from one of my all-time faves
Keb' Mo' is short for Kevin Moore. It's also short for a virtuositic bluesman with a laid back style. From traditional blues to pop remakes, his excellent guitar skills and cool voice make for excellent chill-out music. A lesser-known song that deserves more attention
"Stardust and Snow" by Once Blue
I distinctly remember walking into Circuit City in the early 90's and finding these amazing devices called "listening stations" where you could sample different CDs using the provided headphones. My first discovery was this terrific (but short-lived) duo's debut album. There were a few great songs on it, led by this song of longing for the days of yesteryear.

Good old fashioned music with acoustic instruments
"1952 Vincent Black Lightning" by Richard Thompson
Like "Eye of the Hurricane" (one of my all-time favorites), this is tragic song about a motorcycle that features some outstanding acoustic guitar work. What could be cooler?

Something Unique to Send You on Your Way
"Boogie Shoes" by KC and the Sunshine Band
Honestly, I don't know any of the lyrics other than "I want to put on my my my boogie shoes", but I'm hooked every time I hear the horn intro. This song is short, sweet, good, old-fashioned fun!
