Song of the Month
(Hopefully) something new for you to check out
"King of Anything" by Sara Bareillis
I like this version of the song, but I really like the Cities' 97 acoustic version. Both feature great vocals and a cool piano part.

Featured Artist: Natasha Bedingfield
A few tracks from one of my all-time faves
I'm not that into modern dance-pop music, but NB is an exception. She's got a great voice, upbeat lyrics, and some great hooks. Check out my list of the Top 10 Natasha Bedingfield Songs and let me know what you think of my selections of her best.

The Gem
A lesser-known song that deserves more attention
"I Wanna Be Your Lover" by Prince
Sure, everyone loves "Kiss", "When Doves Cry", and "Purple Rain", but this song's funky guitars and 80s synthesizers always get my toes tapping. Check out the scary album cover on the left!

Folk Fascination
Good old fashioned music with acoustic instruments
"Garden Song" by John Denver
This one brings me back to my Bible Camp counselor days (we used to call it "Inch by Inch"). The song was originally written by Pete Seeger and was recorded by Peter, Paul & Mary, but I like John Denver's version best.

A Cappella
Unaccompanied Treasures
"Forever" by The University of Wisconsin MadHatters
I chose this song to honor Wisconsin's (disappointing) trip to the Rose Bowl. Yes, I got sick of it with the YouTube wedding party video, but the MadHatters version is impressively true to the original.

Grab Bag
Something Unique to Send You on Your Way
"Have A Little Faith In Me" by John Hiatt
I first heard this in 1993's Benny and Joon. I don't remember much about the movie (other than Johnny Depp playing a weird character - what's new?), but I do remember wanting to find this great piano ballad at the record store immediately after.
