Featured Music for May 2008
The Weepies

Song of the Month

"Can't Go Back Now " by The Weepies.  This short but inspired track is just another example about how impressive the folk-pop music genre has become.  You probably haven't heard of them, but the Weepies have made some great music including their 2005 album Say I Am You.  With beautiful harmonies, melancholy lyrics, and rich production, this song (from their April 22 release Hideaway) is definitely worth checking out on The Weepies - Hideaway - Can't Go Back Now

Featured Artist

Lyle Lovett. Country, folk, big band, pop, gospel...he can do it all. For over 20 years Lyle has been producing great music.  Check out my top ten list here and his full catalog on Lyle Lovett

Blast from the Past

"From The Beginning" by Emerson, Lake & Palmer.  Keith Emerson was a pioneer of modern synthesizers and one of my childhood keyboard heroes.  However, it's Greg Lake's acoustic guitar and vocals that turned me on to this track.  Listen to it on Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Trilogy - From the Beginning

Kiddie Corner

"Do-Re-Mi" from The Sound of Music. This is the kids' favorite song from one of their favorite, parent-approved movies...which will bring us back to Angela Cartwright, Charmian Carr, Debbie Turner, Duane Chase, Heather Menzies, Julie Andrews, Kym Karath, Maria and The Children, Nicholas Hammond & Original Soundtrack - The Sound of Music (Original Soundtrack) - Do-Re-Mi (From the 20th Century-Fox film "The Sound of Music")
