Song of the Month
(Hopefully) something new for you to check out
"Lean on Me" by the cast of Glee
I don't know how long this addictive television show will last, but it's been an entertaining run so far. "Don't Stop Believin'", "Defying Gravity", and this Club Nouveau-rivaling remake have been among the many vocal performance highlights.

Featured Artist: Sting
A few tracks from one of my all-time faves
Speaking of Glee, a recent episode featured the club's director hilariously singing the classic Police song "Don't Stand Too Close to Me" to a starry-eyed student. I count that among my favorite songs by one of the best rock trios ever. Check out my list of the Top 10 Sting/Police Songs and let me know what you think.

The Gem
A lesser-known song that deserves more attention
"Sun Comes Up, It's Tuesday Morning" by Cowboy Junkies
Back in the early 90s, Cowboy Junkies had a few modest hits with their unique laid-back sound. This one is my personal favorite.

Folk Fascination
Good old fashioned music with acoustic instruments
"Ain't No Reason" by Brett Dennen
iTunes labels him as one of today's rising stars of folk. I'm not convinced that he's got a large enough repertoire of quality tunes, but I definitely do like this one, his biggest hit.

Aaah Cappella
Unaccompanied Treasures
"O Holy Night" by *NSYNC
They didn't do a lot of a cappella, but this 1998 release from Justin Timberlake and friends is one of the best ever contemporary sacred a cappella recordings.

Kiddie Corner
Quality music for kids and adults alike
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" by Gene Autry
Christmas is obviously a sacred holiday, but there are a few seasonal secular tunes that make you feel like a kid again. Gene Autry's classic twangy version is a "shining" example.
