Spotlight: 2004

The Athens Olympics. Dubya defeats Kerry. The Darkness rocks the world with “I Believe in a Thing Called Love.” That pretty much sums up the year, right? I’m sure a few more important things happened, like Grammys being awarded to personal favorites Norah Jones and Ray Charles (Record of the Year – “Here We Go Again”), John Mayer (Song – “Daughters”), Maroon 5 (Best New Artist), and Los Lonely Boys (Best Pop Performance – “Heaven”). My top songs for the year also included some teen pop gems from Jesse McCartney and LMNT, Cities’ 97 staples Gavin DeGraw, Five for Fighting, and Keri Noble, and a great tribute to the late Senator Wellstone from Mason Jennings. Check out my Best of 2004 List and let me know what you think.
Norah Jones – Sunrise
